It is also a great butterfly plant.

Thanks David. It was the purple stems and fading flowers of the blue mistflower that caught my eye. Love the Aromatic Aster...I've never seen an Aster with such nice fall color. LOVE the Mistflower, I'm totally adding some of it to the garden next year...if I can find space :-)scottweberpdxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08740930947767329183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7929448677986593408.post-50284120876782647182011-12-19T23:19:45.766-06:002011-12-19T23:19:45.766-06:00Thanks HolleyGarden. I miss the one I planted at my previous house.

Thanks Shirley. I miss the summer colors, but I also like the browns that come with autumn.

Thanks S. My four nerve daisies did not bloom much last winter either. It seemed like we had ice almost every other week. They are the only flowers blooming in my yard now. The freeze a couple of weeks ago did not faze them.Michael - Plano Prairie Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10288991916201553454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7929448677986593408.post-38473487586990641682011-12-19T21:57:15.279-06:002011-12-19T21:57:15.279-06:00Some years, my 4 nerve daisy blooms through the wi...Some years, my 4 nerve daisy blooms through the winter, with only an occasional down day. Not last year, though- too much ice and snow. The ice and snow, however, have been great for the dropped fruit of the turk's caps. Have a lot of new plants the last 2 years that I can only connect to the snow, cold and ice helping the seeds get going by late winter.

Your yard is fantastic!! I have yard envy!!

S.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7929448677986593408.post-72174146381557069692011-12-19T20:33:40.211-06:002011-12-19T20:33:40.211-06:00Very pretty photos and a nice view of the details ...Very pretty photos and a nice view of the details in your garden.

Fascinating how colorful and interesting a garden can be even when it's going dormant.Shirley Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12734806779997587008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7929448677986593408.post-52283063818374356672011-12-19T13:02:39.538-06:002011-12-19T13:02:39.538-06:00Very pretty - love the reds and purples!
